Dawnkeeper

Terms of use

Effective 14 October 2026 · Applies to the Dawnkeeper app for iPhone and Android

Dawnkeeper is published by Hinoro Studio (EI), France (see the legal notice). By installing or playing Dawnkeeper, you accept these terms. If you downloaded the game from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; on Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service apply. These terms add the rules specific to Dawnkeeper.

1. The game

Dawnkeeper is free to download and needs no account. It plays offline; ads only appear when your phone is online.

2. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to play Dawnkeeper on devices you own or control, for your private, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, sell, rent or redistribute the game, nor decompile or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows it.

3. Your progress

Your forest and your progress are saved only on your phone: there is no online save. Uninstalling the game, Start over, or resetting or losing your phone erases them, and we cannot restore them. Your phone’s own backups may bring them back.

4. Ads

The free version shows a full-screen ad between some nights, after a dawn and never during a night, and offers an optional ad you can choose to watch for extra light. How ads use data is explained in the privacy policy.

5. The full game

The full game (⋮ › Full game on the title screen) is a one-time in-app purchase that removes the ads between nights and unlocks night themes, forest themes and a second music; what it includes is shown in the app before you buy. It never makes the nights easier. It is sold by Apple or Google under their terms, which also govern payment and refunds, and it is tied to your Apple or Google account: use Restore purchases to get it back on another phone.

Light, stars and everything else earned in the game have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money.

6. Updates

We may update the game to fix bugs, adjust the balance of the nights or add content, and we may stop distributing it. We do our best to keep your progress through updates.

7. Health and safety

Dawnkeeper shows glowing and flashing lights. A small number of people may have seizures when exposed to certain light patterns, even with no history of epilepsy. If you or someone in your family has had seizures, ask a doctor before playing. Stop playing at once if you feel dizzy or unwell, or notice blurred vision or eye or muscle twitches.

Stay aware of your surroundings, and never play while driving, cycling or crossing a street.

8. Warranty and liability

We make Dawnkeeper with care, but it is provided as is, without any guarantee that it will be free of bugs or run on every phone. To the extent permitted by law, Hinoro Studio is not liable for indirect damage or for lost progress. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content.

9. Intellectual property

The game, its name, icon, visuals, music, sounds, texts and code belong to Hinoro Studio. The images on the press page may be used to write about the game.

10. Applicable law

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country’s law. In case of a problem, write to us first: most problems are solved by email.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The new version is published on this page with its date.
